Endometriosis is a painful condition in which the endometrium or uterine tissue grows outside of the uterus. When your monthly menstrual cycle occurs, it triggers hormonal changes causing these tissues to become irritated and inflamed. Over time, this can lead to a variety of uncomfortable symptoms including chronic pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, and severe cramping.

Menopause signifies the end of a woman's reproductive life cycle. A woman is said to have entered menopause when she has gone a full 12 months without having a menstrual cycle. During this time, the body stops releasing eggs and reduces estrogen production significantly.
