Have you met our NEW Faculty Program Coordinator for the Instructional USU Instructional Leadership Program yet?

Heather Newell received her undergraduate degree as well as her special education teacher certification from Utah State University. Her master’s degree is from the University of Utah in Educational Leadership and Policy. She worked in Salt Lake City School District for 19 years as a paraeducator, special education teacher, 504 Coordinator, data specialist, assistant principal and as the principal of Backman Elementary School. She also worked at the State Board of Education in the Center for Continuous School improvement before joining the Teacher Education and Leadership Department at Utah State. Her interests are in inclusion, equity, cultural humility, restorative practices, and experiential education.
