🐴 Why Vaccinating Your Horse Matters 🐴

As veterinarians, one of the most important things we can do to help protect horses is emphasize the importance of routine vaccination.

Vaccines help protect against serious diseases such as Eastern & Western Encephalomyelitis, Tetanus, West Nile Virus, and Rabies. These diseases can be devastating, and in some cases fatal; but many are preventable through proper vaccination.

Even horses that rarely leave home are still at risk. Mosquitoes, wildlife, and environmental exposure can bring disease right to your pasture.

Keeping your horse up to date on vaccinations is one of the simplest and most effective ways to safeguard their health and well-being.

When vaccines are adminsitered by your veterinarian, this ensures the vaccine is handled correctly and comes with possible financial support in the event your horse does become sick

Talk with your veterinarian to develop a vaccination program tailored to your horse's age, lifestyle, travel schedule, and risk factors.
