Recent advances have led to important changes in the paradigm for the treatment of COPD. Join Dr. Barry Make and Dr. James Donohue as they discuss the current emphasis on personalized treatment based on expanded factors in patient assessment, together with the development of new and emerging treatment options. They also stress the importance of non-pharmaceutical treatment in combination with pharmacologic therapy, and offer guidance in determining which patients should undergo pulmonary rehabilitation. - See more at: http://www.projectsinknowledge.com/pulmonology/pulmonology/Making-Sense-New-Emerging-Treatment-Options-for-COPD-.cfm?jn=2222 .6K7htcTw.dpuf

A patient with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis presenting with worsening disease while on a first disease-modifying therapy is not an uncommon scenario for the practicing neurologist. This scenario, however, raises complex and critical questions. How to evaluate relapse? How to choose a personalized next therapy? How to minimize risk while optimizing benefits? Join Stephen Krieger, MD, for this case study in which he goes through this decision-making process with a patient with worsening disease on a traditional injectable therapy. - See more at: http://www.projectsinknowledge.com/ .92V0AEeg.dpuf

In the past few years, the development and approval of regimens that include immunomodulatory agents and proteasome inhibitors have significantly expanded treatment options for patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. For optimal patient care, clinicians need to keep abreast of new data associated with current and emerging agents and optimal evidence-based strategies for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. In this webcast, Drs. Noopur Raje and Philippe Moreau discuss recent updates to current treatment options for relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma, including contrasting US and EU standards of care. They will also discuss early-phase clinical studies of emerging treatment options for multiple myeloma, including novel proteasome inhibitors and monoclonal antibodies. - See more at: http://www.projectsinknowledge.com/ .92V0AEeg.dpuf

Determining insulin treatment for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes presents a variety of challenges for the physician. In addition to reluctance on the part of patients, and sometimes physicians, to begin insulin, new therapeutic classes and agents – both insulin and non-insulin – have recently become available, expanding treatment options but introducing new considerations and complications in deciding on the optimal regimen for an individual patient. Join Dr. Lawrence Blonde and Dr. Vivian Fonseca, as they discuss these issues, focusing in particular on role of insulin and advances in insulin therapies for the treatment of T1DM and T2DM. - See more at: http://www.projectsinknowledge.com/diabetes/diabetes/Advances-Insulin-Therapies-for-Treatment-T1DM-T2DM-webcast.cfm?jn=2238 .VSIYtmdz.dpuf

Ongoing research in the field of multiple sclerosis (MS) has generated new insights into the pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment, and management of this challenging disease. A wide array of new MRI technologies, new treatment strategies, and a better understanding of the need for early diagnosis and personalized therapy have surfaced. New and emerging disease-modifying drugs are entering the armamentarium of therapies available to patients and clinicians. Common symptoms such as walking impairment, bladder dysfunction, spasticity, and cognitive impairment also need to be addressed to improve patient quality of life. As a clinician who treats MS patients, are you as informed as you need to be about these important issues? - See more at: http://ow.ly/O17ts
