Community Puzzle
Winter is here as we finally see snow on the ground here in Denver, CO. Winter is a time we think of snuggling up warm drinks, insightful books, blogs, and articles. Planning what is to come in the year to come. At Training Wheels we take the winter time to reflect on the last year and what we can do in the next year to better the various industries our products are used in. We look to answer the question "What is our piece of the puzzle?"
Community Puzzle is a simple product with a multitude of uses. We always find our warehouse full of extra side pieces from broken down puzzles we sold throughout the year. But sides are important it can mean a completion of an idea, a period on a sentence. But when is it the right time to put a border on the puzzle? What "puzzles" have you completed and put borders on in 2014?
Building Our House, Part 3 -
Our house is coming together with our strong foundation and support system that has allowed for many great accomplishments. Now lets look at our house features.
In the windows, write what you are comfortable letting others "see." What characteristics or traits do you have that you are willing to share with others? In the door, write a habit or personal quality that you would like to work on or improve (Note that this is NOT a physical quality). In the chimney, write what you do to release pent up tension or to relax. How do you blow off steam?
For our lovely tree beside out house..In the roots write what keeps you "growing" or gives you life - is it work, family or hobbies, etc? Be specific. In the branches of the tree, write what you see for your future. Where do you want to be in ten years? Think in terms of a "keynote address." What would you like the audience to know about your accomplishments in future?

A great activity we use to look at the pieces each individual brings to a community is Building Our House. Each individual can choose their level of disclosure and draw or write on the puzzle pieces as much or little as they want to answer the questions asked. Put the piece together and you have a community/neighborhood block. The next two days will give the steps to bring your neighborhood Block to life. Today is set up:
Distribute one to 2 pieces of the puzzle to each individuals. Ask them to draw - Foundation, Chimney, Windows, A door, and next to the house draw a tree with roots and branches. Each of these items have meaning for later.
