This year, more than 550 applicants competed for just 370 residency positions nationwide. Despite one of the toughest match cycles on record, all eight UAMS students who applied successfully matched.

Their achievement reflects years of hard work, determination, and support from dedicated faculty mentors, researchers, and clinicians across UAMS, Arkansas Children's, and the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System. It's a testimate to the amazing training opportunities they receive at UAMS -- the referral center for the most complex ENT cases from across the state.

A First for Arkansas. A New Option for Patients.

We are proud to celebrate a milestone in patient care at UAMS Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery.

Dr. Patrick Fraley has become the first surgeon in Arkansas to implant the Genio® System, an innovative, FDA-approved treatment for adults with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea who are unable to tolerate CPAP therapy.

Unlike traditional sleep apnea treatments, the Genio® System is a mask-free therapy that gently stimulates the hypoglossal nerves during sleep to help keep the airway open, providing a new option for patients seeking improved sleep and quality of life.
