These video clips are from the first time we met her at 2 weeks old. I'd never even looked at them until today, but it was such a sweet walk down memory lane, especially the comments from our six-year-old.

Christmas Eve a few years ago. This was a "testing the light" photo, with no one posed or prepared. The sunburst off the piano was a happy accident. Often, I find myself drawn to these snapshots more than carefully choreographed ones. Beauty in the ordinary.

Mrs. Dr. Hughes and I worked as pediatricians together at Arkansas Children's. We retired the exact same day to transition to life as stay-at-home moms. Both of our blessings have multiplied since then, but her people multiplied too! Last month, they celebrated the adoption of their youngest son and daughter.
Heartfelt congratulations to the Hughes Family, party of NINE.
