Pollinators, Plants & Prairie Pines
Saturday, June 20 | 10 AM–1 PM

Join us at Prairie Pines for an interactive event celebrating the important roles pollinator plants, insects, and wildlife play in our ecosystems.

Learn how bees, butterflies, native plants, and other pollinators help support a healthy environment — and discover simple ways you can make a difference at home and in your community.

This is a great event for nature lovers, families, gardeners, and anyone interested in helping our local ecosystems thrive.

From guided hikes and storytime in the arboretum to pollinator celebrations, nightfall adventures, wellness activities, and the annual Run 4 the Pines & Paws on the Path, there’s something for every age and every kind of nature lover.

Come walk the trails, learn from local experts, explore the arboretum, and connect with community in one of Lincoln’s most beautiful natural spaces.

The new Eisely Sunflower Garden was planted near the windmill this week in honor of Loren Eisely, the Lincoln-raised anthropologist and nature writer whose childhood days wandering the grasses and sunflowers along Salt Creek shaped his life and work. 🌻

This garden was initiated by Tom Lynch of the Loren Eisely Society and planted by the small hands of preschool, kindergarten, and first grade students—exactly the kind of early connection with nature that can inspire curiosity for a lifetime.
