With the rise in cicadas in Logan county, cicada predators are also on the increase. Watch out for cicada killers, which can be large and tend to hover near the ground.

A couple things of note for cicada killers.

1. They are generally very docile and will not just attack a person

2. They nest in the ground and dig small holes in different areas of the yard

3. The can sting you and it is very painful. But generally you would have to agitate them or physically step on them before that would happen.

4. While mowing they will become more active due to the vibrations caused by the mower. This does not mean they are agitated and will attack you.

5. If you notice you have an issue with them call me sooner rather than later. It is much easier to treat an issue before it spreads throughout your yard.
