A huge thank you to Union College for having me in today to speak to your OTA —> OT program!  I love speaking with our next generation of amazing OT‘s and enjoyed all of the dialogue that we had today ❤️

✨ Who says fine motor coordination can’t be fun?? ✨

After grading the task to find just the right activity to keep this amazing kid regulated and engaged, we landed on tracing his favorite NASCAR driver’s car! 🏎️

From there, we colored it in together and laughed while talking about how much fun we were having. What he didn’t realize was that I was also watching so many important skills at once — his visual motor skills, his hand strength, his ability to work on a vertical surface, and even his dual focus as he answered my questions while staying zoned in on the task.

The best part? Before I left, he proudly placed his finished picture in a frame and displayed it in his home. 💛 My day was absolutely made!
