Can kindness be funny? Sure can. A smile is a smile š
An old community notice board displayed weekly messages, updates, and announcements that often went unnoticed. Over time, small acts of assistance and shared resources by residents became visible through these notes, fostering unexpected connections and a renewed sense of community. Simple gesturesāhelping neighbors, sharing time and patienceāsparked participation from others, creating a ripple effect of kindness. These actions demonstrated that meaningful impact does not require recognition or grand gestures, but is built through consistent, ordinary choices. The experience highlighted how empathy and involvement strengthen relationships within communities, showing that collective goodwill and cooperation can leave lasting impressions and sustain social bonds, even when individual acts appear small or routine.

Special shout-out to our great friend, Deb Turner. On a current trip to South Africa, she and her crew took time out to deliver school supplies to a school in Botswana. Thanks for the cool story, Deb ! Even had an elephant traffic jam on the way, but MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

Baseball: Delphos St. Johnās wins D-VII state title AKRON ā A walk-off score at the end of a game is baseballās equivalent of a slam dunk to win a basketball game.
Don't talk to strangers ! You remember that? We have been taught that forever and today I would like to officially contradict this rule. I believe, in my pursuit of making the world a better place, that we should talk to all the strangers we meet daily. Why ? So many interesting people out there and it is the BEST WAY to discover them.
Last weekend, while e-biking in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, we stopped and talked to a couple on the bike path. Vickie and Steve. Turns out Steve is the drummer for the "Gap" Mangione Band. Gap is a 88 yr old jazz pianist and Chuck Mangiones brother. They play 3 or 4 big gigs a year in upstate NY and we hope to maybe take a road trip to New York Finger Lakes region and check out the band.
Also, we struck up a conversation with Arial, who was at Brandywine Falls with her Golden Doodle, Bo. After a while, Arial wanted to show us Bo's jumping skills. I thing he may actually be a Jumpin' Doodle ! š
So, talk to strangers folks. I believe there are so many cool stories & people out there that the pro's heavily outweigh the cons. Thoughts ?

Act of Kindness or bargaining chip? My lovely bride Lisa, was kind enough to bring me an oatmeal creme pie from The Pretty Penny Bakehouse (my favorite). When I thanked her for her selfless gesture, she reminded that the oatmeal pie was for me and to STAY CLEAR from HER peach struesal roll and the pizza scone. I am gonna go with act of kindness.....what do you think ?
