Although this FB page and my website are still active, I want friends to know that I closed Sea Lab Diving Adventures earlier this year after 32 years in the retail scuba diving business.

It was not an easy decision as Sea Lab and coral reef conservation issues have been my focus for all these many years. However, three years ago I was hit by a car while on my bike training for what was my other passion, triathlons. I have not been able to run or bike since and those same physical limitations have led me to the realization that to continue as a scuba instructor was no longer a viable option.

I want to thank all of you who provided me with the opportunity to introduce you to the wonders of the underwater world. It was a great pleasure and over the years we had great fun and innumerable adventures. Going forward I plan to continue to arrange group dive trips and to stay involved as best I can in promoting the conservation of marine ecosystems. The threats to coral reefs are at a tipping point and time is running out. I hope to be able to continue to encourage the scuba diving industry to take the steps necessary to raise awareness of the warnings of the coral reef science community. This post isn't meant to be political, just a statement in support of the many scientists who are working tirelessly to keep our reefs alive. We know what needs to be done if coral reefs (as we know them) are to be available to future generations. I have a grandson now and I want nothing more than to be able to provide him with the same opportunities that I had when I was first captivated by the countless wonders I encountered while exploring the underwater world. There is great work being done in an effort to promote our understanding of the dynamics involved, let's all work together to be sure that we don't allow these invaluable resources to slip away on our watch. That would be an unimaginable tragedy.
