Swaggin out!

Sometimes you come across a project where you aren't able to connect with or visualize what the client needs. That could stem from a communication standpoint where you truly can't see what they have in their heads to then be able to interpret and translate. Sometimes it derives from a stylistic rift in artist and client. Design is not just problem solving, but also translation, and sometimes that message gets scrambled along the way.
That is what happened with Equijot...
An awesome project with a really amazing client, Equijot will be a platform used by farms for organizing and tracking individual Thoroughbred's day to day on an activity feed. Everything checked out and was good to go. ...
But we could never seem to sync up on how to fully express his vision. This was extremely frustrating and something I really had not run across before. After multiple iterations and motif adjustments we still could not figure it out....
Eventually we decided to part ways. It was a respectful and clean "break up" but I was so embarrassed and frustrated at myself for "failing" a project and a client. It took a few days to get over it and with some help I could see it was no ones fault...
Yes, I wish I could have hit the nail on the head for this client and I wish them the best with how they move forward, but sometimes it just doesn't work out.
That has to be okay.
