Ever wondered just how we roast our coffee? Well here ya go!

Magic Beans Coffee is roasted on a fluid-bed roaster called a Sivetz. We are one of the few of these roasters in the surrounding states.

This method of roasting uses a stream of rapidly moving, superheated air to roast coffee. Our Sivetz was hand built in 2006 under the supervision of Michael Sivetz (yeah that Sivetz!) and roasts 37lbs of coffee at a time, producing small batch coffee each time.

We love our roaster because the even roast and clean tasting products that lets us showcase the beans at their best.

We love our espresso. Sam loves our espresso. We think it’s pretty special stuff. We often serve it on espresso at and but it’s also a really tasty dark roast for coffee drinkers that love a bold, rich cup of coffee to start the day at home

Our good friends over are celebrating 10 years this week! Magic Beans would not be what it is without our good neighbors of West Sixth. We’re so excited to celebrate them this week and hope you’ll join in too!

Be sure to try their Magic Beans Coffee Stout which uses our Sumatra or snag a special bag of the West Sixth Sumatra in their taproom or on Eastern Ave

It's been a wild couple of weeks over here - with lots of coffee for wholesale customers and a few special holiday orders! We couldn't have done it without the contribution of all of our team and beyond, including Rollins, the shop manager over at A Cup of Common Wealth , who stepped in to help with some of the final packaging for the week! We kept it fun in the midst of the craziness and are looking forward to the holiday season and releasing some of our favorite seasonal staples in a couple of weeks!

It's important, during weekly deliveries, to practice good Coffee Safety. Jake is out and about finishing up getting everyone their orders for the week and making sure everything gets to its destination, safe and sound.

This last month we welcomed a new member to our Wholesale Coffee Family - a coffee shop located on Portland Avenue in Louisville called The Coffee Boxx! These guys officially opened up last week and are serving coffee, tea, pastries, savory food options, and even a Pay It Forward wall! We've loved getting to know their owner, Lauren, as they launch this special little place, and look forward to seeing them grow and provide great offerings to the city of Louisville! Give them a follow or visit them at their website www.thecoffeeboxat1512.com!

Happiest of 29th Birthdays to our Production Assistant, Zach Wooldridge! Zach is hilarious, always up for a game of ultimate frisbee, loyal to his local restaurants, bars and breweries, and a fun loving guy to be around. He's been a big part behind the roasting and packaging of your coffee for the last couple of years and also serves as one of the veteran bakers at A Cup of Common Wealth, so we wanted to give him a big shout out!

He's off for the weekend to celebrate, but if you see him out and about tell him Happy Birthday and wish him a great last year of his 20s! Happy Birthday, Z-Wooly!

Yesterday was an absolutely blast! To those who stopped by, we want to give you a million and a half "Thank Yous!" We went through two entire Toddys of Brewshine and a huge amount of Cold Brew as well, not to mention all the vanilla syrup and oranges! We met many new faces and shared laughs and great conversations with new friends. Congrats to the winners in each of the categories, it was truly an honor to serve Cold Brew alongside so many wonderful coffee vendors.
