Super cool project, go follow the journey!
Late 2018, we purchased a 2004 Jeep TJ for Cloe’s first car, from a lady named Rebecca Collins. Rebecca loved this Jeep but with it being a manual shift she was unable to drive it due to an injury. Little while later she posted about us bringing it home, hopeful that we would lift and restore it. At that time, I thought no way I was going to do all that for my daughter’s first car.
A few years went by and, as I’m sure those in the Jeep community can attest, it was slowly rusting away. As you can see in the picture, there was a small spot beginning to rust through below the driver’s door.
If I wanted to keep the Jeep going, I was going to have to take care of this problem very soon. Then we started noticing rust in the seams of the fenders, which would require replacing the entire fenders. It was then I knew I was starting on a full restoration project. And so here we go, opening a 55-gallon drum of worms
