I can remember sitting around my grandmother’s kitchen table with Coca Cola from a bottle and a Dixie cup full of Chex Mix and planning our “menus” for the holidays. It was a ritual I looked forward to every year and always wanted to be included in. The menu didn’t change much from year to year, but we made a production of it just the same. I was maybe 10 or 11 years old but even then I loved the idea of planning a party. Even more than that I loved making lists! All of it brought a smile to my face. I guess it’s no surprise those things stuck with me. I still love to throw a party...they are just on a little grander scale these days. And I am never without a notebook full of plans and to-dos. Those conversations around that kitchen table are some of my favorite memories from my childhood. And every year this season I think back to those simple moments that I cherish with all my heart 💖
