Media Collaboratory

We had a wonderful time in the studio with gearing up for their next video campaign. Our previous collaborative project focusing on Harm Reduction also featured interviews filmed in our studio albeit on a stark white c*c, so for this story, we wanted add in comfort and an ‘at-home’ design to the overall visual direction. We’re excited with how everyone shared their stories, and we can’t wait for the finished edit!

A special thank you to our partners, Media Collaboratory, for their willingness to provide video footage of this year’s event, along with the production of a promotional video. This will help us in creating more awareness and promotion of the event for years to come.

Video is a powerful teaching and learning tool for both professional development and classroom use. The Media Collaboratory in collaboration with Project Tomorrow produced a series of video modules that demonstrate how teachers/educators can implement mobile and tablet-based learning in their classrooms and curriculums to expand learning modalities and accessibility, and prepare students for the technological needs of the present and future.
The core content was produced in collaboration with Project Tomorrow and its corporate partner, Qualcomm Corporate Headquarters and, according to Project Tomorrow CEO, Julie A. Evans, Ed.D., “The Media Collaboratory’s experience and depth of knowledge about the K-12 environment, the quality of their work and interactions with our extended team has been exemplary.” The Media Collaboratory filmed interviews with Kentucky teachers and administrators, as well as footage of students and teachers actively engaged with the mobile devices in authentic classroom settings to create a five-part program, which is available nationwide.

Back in June, we helped our friends in the FOX 56 News Creative Services Department film a bunch of wonderfully produced exteriors for their brand new “Kentucky Our Home” brand launch. Our fleet of Aputure fixtures plus reflective/diffusion lighting control came in clutch for a consistent look that offered a high-key and friendly commercial appeal. The finished spot came out great; thank you for having us!

Speaking of interns, congrats to our former University of Kentucky intern Vyn Lane for taking home two awards tonight at this year’s UKY Film Festival! Also, our former intern Matt Dunlap who was featured in many of the films and is an all around rock star!
