Happy Independence Day tomorrow! We hope that you celebrate responsibly this holiday weekend! Here’s a few things to keep in mind:

Leave the 🧨 to the professionals, we’re in a serious drought and you could start a fire very easily or lose a finger!

If you decide to have 🥃 leave the driving to someone sober.

When cooking please watch that pot! Unattended cooking fires are the leading cause of home fires in the US.

Enjoy America’s 250th birthday, it’s nothing personal but hopefully we don’t have to meet, it’s way to 🥵 out there.

🔥 HEADS UP: High Fire Danger has returned to most of the state, a result of abnormally dry fuel conditions further exacerbated by high temperatures low relative humidity, and gusty SW winds of 10-25MPH, resulting in high fire danger across most of North Carolina! This will continue this afternoon and into Sunday.

Fire fuels could easily ignite and spread rapidly in these conditions. Residents and visitors to the area are urged to properly dispose of cigarette butts, matches, and any other flammable items in appropriate containers. Exercise caution if operating any equipment that could create sparks, and keep vehicles off dry leaves and grass.

🚒 High Fire Danger: While the burn ban has been lifted, high fire danger is back for Tuesday and Wednesday across most of the state. Hot, dry conditions, with some lighter to moderate winds, will keep fire danger high across the state, along with soil drying.

Humidity levels ramp up Thursday into the weekend along with increasing showers/storm chances at least in hit or miss fashion so after Wednesday the fire danger should decrease again.
