Community Health Begins Where Trust Lives.

This past weekend, Project Ricochet's Justice Served Outreach Team had the privilege of engaging community members during the Annual All White Affair at the Marriott Griffin Gate Ballroom in Lexington, Kentucky.

Rather than simply distributing giveaway items, we intentionally created meaningful health conversations. Community members completed our Community Health Survey before receiving a wellness bag, allowing us to connect education with action while gathering valuable data to better understand community needs.

Our outreach focused on:

• Harm reduction education
• Naloxone (Narcan) awareness and administration
• Overdose prevention
• Community resource navigation
• Building trust through one-on-one conversations

Each Community Wellness Bag included health resources and prevention tools, including dental hygiene supplies, educational materials, Project Ricochet resources, and a single-dose Narcan kit with instructions.

This work reflects our philosophy that public health is most effective when it meets people where they are. Trusted community spaces create opportunities for conversations that can save lives, reduce stigma, and strengthen connections between residents and available services.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, completed the survey, shared their stories, and partnered with us in advancing healthier communities.

Special thanks to Sloo Promotions and our dedicated Justice Served Outreach Team for representing Project Ricochet with professionalism, compassion, and purpose.

Together, we continue to educate, empower, and equip our communities…one conversation at a time.
