The goodbyes are always the hardest.
A Faithful friend for over 11 years
Last night I laid Mama to rest.
It will be all the little moments I’ll cherish most—my sweet Mama Kitty greeting me at sunrise as I headed out to feed the horses, faithfully watching over the barn for the past 11 years.
I’ll miss the days of you curling up in my lap, purring contently and making biscuits. I’ll miss your sweet little meow as you rubbed against my legs, patiently waiting for a head scratch.
I knew our time together here on earth was coming to an end. Last night, you came to find me, and somehow you let me know it was time. When you truly love someone, you listen.
As I held you and whispered my final goodbye, you purred and made biscuits, as if to say, “Thank you for being my person and for loving me when I needed you most.” That is a moment I will carry with me forever.
I will miss you today. I will miss you tomorrow.you will be missed by many.
If you have been to our barn you were sure to meet mama and her odd short meow and here little paw reaching out for attention. She was always around looking for someone to show her attention.
Thank you for 11 years of unconditional love, quiet companionship, and for faithfully watching over our little corner of the world. You leave behind paw prints that can never be replaced and a piece of my heart that will always belong to you.
Run free, my sweet Mama Kitty. Rest easy, beautiful girl.
