For the tenth consecutive year, WaterOne has received the Distinguished Budget Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This award is the highest recognition in governmental budgeting. The budget is evaluated based on a comprehensive set of criteria, including organizational-wide strategic goals, financial policies, and the overall budget process. To earn recognition, the budget book submitted must excel as a policy document, financial plan, operational guide, and communication tool.

WaterOne's 2025 budget also received special recognition for its performance measures and financial policies, with all three reviewers awarding the highest possible scores in those categories.
