➡️ Measles Outbreak in Malawi

Malawi is experiencing a growing measles outbreak, with children being most affected. In Nsanje District, near the border with Mozambique, health authorities have reported at least 188 suspected cases, including 76 laboratory-confirmed infections. Most cases have occurred among children under the age of 15, especially those younger than five. Health officials are expanding vaccination campaigns, strengthening disease surveillance, and increasing community outreach to help contain the outbreak. However, low vaccination coverage and frequent cross-border movement continue to raise concerns that more children could become infected in the weeks ahead.

The Church of the Nazarene continues serving children and families throughout Malawi through local congregations and ministries. During this year's Vacation Bible School season, many Nazarene churches welcomed children for Bible lessons, games, and activities where they learned about the love of Jesus. Ministries like these continue to encourage children and families, reminding them that they are loved, valued, and never forgotten.

🙏 Lord, we pray for the children and families affected by the measles outbreak in Malawi. Protect those who are most vulnerable, strengthen healthcare workers and community leaders as they respond to this outbreak, and help stop the spread of the disease. We also pray for Nazarene churches throughout Malawi as they continue sharing the hope of Christ and caring for children and families in their communities. Lord, hear our prayers.

➡️ A New Source of Hope in Zimbabwe

We give thanks for the Water Access, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Project at Dangamvura Church of the Nazarene in Zimbabwe, southern Africa. For years, finding clean water was a daily challenge for the church and the surrounding community. Today, families have reliable access to safe water close to home, helping them stay healthier and giving them renewed hope for the future.

This project is doing more than providing clean water. It is helping the church care for its neighbors in practical ways. As church members encourage healthy hygiene practices and continue serving their community, they are sharing Christ's love through both their words and their actions. What was once a daily struggle is now a reminder of God's faithful provision and His care for this community.

🙏 Lord, we thank You for providing clean water and new hope to the Dangamvura community. Thank You for the local church and everyone who helped make this project possible. May this water source continue to bless families with better health and renewed hope for years to come. As the church continues serving its neighbors, may many people come to know Your love through its faithful witness. Lord, hear our prayers.

Sabina* once struggled to complete her homework assignments. Coming from a large family with limited financial resources, she often felt overwhelmed by schoolwork.

After enrolling in a child development center in Nepal, Sabina began receiving the support she needed to succeed academically and to grow in confidence through activities such as Bible quizzing, singing, and dancing.

“When I look at other children, my daughter seems very wise to me,” said Sabina’s mother. “She is happy with whatever she has.”

This year, Sabina’s dedication and hard work earned her the center's Best Student Award.
