All municipal water has to be disinfected to ensure that bacteria does not develop in the distribution system. The most common disinfectants are chloramines, chlorine gas, and what we use- sodium hypochlorite.

The EPA limit for sodium hypochlorite in drinking water is 4 mg/l. The smell and taste of sodium hypochlorite typically become noticeable around 1 mg/l. We use sodium hypochlorite for many reasons 👉
✅ Low concentration making it barely noticeable in taste and smell
✅ Safer to handle and work with than other alternatives
✅ Cost-efficient since it is produced onsite
