If you’ve never seen My Cousin Vinny, the overlay probably seems completely unhinged.

The funny part is my wife quotes that scene every single time I leave to go hunting. Without fail, I get hit with, “What are you gonna shoot? A deer?” followed immediately by, “Imagine you’re a deer…” and then somehow we end up talking about my pants. 😂

So when this Axis deer hide project finally came together, I had no choice but to use the clip.

This build almost didn’t happen. My first attempt ruined the hide, turning it into rawhide that shrunk and stiffened until it was unusable. I only had enough material left for one more attempt.

Second time was the charm.

Genuine Axis deer hide over a glow-in-the-dark green outer layer with a Multidick camo inner layer. Definitely one of the more ridiculous—and rewarding—projects to come out of the shop.

EDC #11 of 100.

A little more classic than my usual carry today.

The holster is one of my own from Close Quarters Carry. Dual-layer construction with glow-in-the-dark blue trim, wrapped in genuine alligator skin, and running a Monoblock-style clip. This is one of those builds that reminds me why I started making holsters in the first place.

The pistol is a Sig P938. Still one of the easiest guns to disappear under a T-shirt, and proof that old designs stick around for a reason.

The knuckle is the Runic from Unwavering Industries.

The knife is a Microtech Ultratech S/E. Is it my favorite knife? Not even close. Is it the most photogenic knife I own? Absolutely. It also needs to go back to Microtech for their famous warranty service because after cleaning game with it a few times on the fly, there’s probably enough blood and mystery gunk inside to qualify as a biological experiment.

The watch is an Omega × Swatch MoonSwatch that’s been transplanted into a steel PVD-coated case. Unless somebody starts making Kydex watch cases, I don’t trust a biodegradable plastic case on something I actually wear.

And the flashlight… a Modlite HOG.

Because little gun, big light.

SHOW ME YOUR HOG, HOSS.

What’s riding in your pockets today?

First off, thank you to for sending this hoodie out. My closet was already full of Columbia gear, but now you’ve gone and made me spend more money because I definitely need a few more of these.

I was given the PFG Terminal Tech Hoodie for free in exchange for my honest review, so I put it through a proper test instead of wearing it around the house for an hour. Over the last month it came with me for range days, fishing trips, hikes, and hunting—day and night—right in the middle of Florida’s heat advisories.

The biggest thing I noticed wasn’t that it magically made the heat disappear. It didn’t. It simply gave me more time outside before I felt like I needed to find shade or head back to the truck. The fabric breathes well, moves sweat quickly, dries fast, and the hood was a huge bonus for keeping the sun off my neck.

One thing that really surprised me was how well it cleaned up. I managed to cover it in Florida mud more than once, and it washed out much easier than most of the other sun shirts I’ve owned.

My only complaint? It doesn’t come in Miami Tiger Stripe… but that’s probably a problem only I have.

Thanks again, , for letting me put this thing through a real-world test instead of a studio review. It earned a spot in my regular rotation, and I’ll be ordering a few more colors.
