In May 2021, GeoModel, Inc. conducted a ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey to locate unmarked graves in an historic church cemetery near Black Mountain, North Carolina. Over one acre was scanned for unmarked graves.

Many residents remember family members being buried in the cemetery in family plots, but the exact locations were not known. GeoModel’s nationally known expert grave locator, Matthew Turner, PG, traversed the cemetery using GPR and located the unmarked graves.

On September 26, 2020, GeoModel, Inc. conducted a ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey to locate graves in the historic Clowser Family Cemetery in Wi******er, Virginia. The Clowser family history dates back to Johann Heinrich Klauser who was buried in the family cemetery in June 1764. GeoModel, Inc. can conduct a GPR survey to locate graves in any family, slave, or other cemetery.

SINKHOLE DETECTION SURVEY

GeoModel, Inc. recently conducted a ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey for a client in Florida. The client wanted GeoModel to investigate to see if there were any sinkholes on their property.

The GPR image below was collected during the GPR survey. The image clearly indicates a sinkhole. The sinkhole is about 30 feet in diameter and more than 9 feet deep. GeoModel marked the extent of the sinkhole on the ground with paint and flags.

GeoModel, Inc. conducted a cemetery survey for the City of Leesburg to locate lost graves at a historic cemetery near the Leesburg Airport. The locations of several graves were marked on the ground in order for the city to place permanent markers.
