An ingrown nail is when the nail grows out and starts to dig into the corners of the toe.
The pain is usually because
👉the grown out nail rests and digs into the skin of the nail groove.
👉That skin hardens to protect itself.
👉Now that hard skin presses on the very new and tender skin under it.
Ouch 😩
A few simple prevention habits go a long way:
✨ Trim nails straight across (not curved)
✨ Avoid cutting too far down the sides
✨ Give toes a little breathing room in your shoes
✨ Stay consistent with your foot care visits.
Most people don’t realize, you don’t always need a doctor for ‘ingrown toenail’ relief. If it’s not infected or too deep, I can help ‘deliver the baby’🤭.
