𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦, 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬. We name without hesitation that what is unfolding is not merely political disruption but a moral and spiritual crisis that threatens the dignity, safety, and humanity of our neighbors. Our tradition teaches that every person is an expression of the One Life, worthy of protection, justice, and compassion. 𝐖𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡.

We also stand in prayer. But prayer without moving our feet, opening our wallets, softening our hearts, and strengthening our courage is not the prayer we choose practice. 𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬: through our resources, through our voices, and through the daily discipline of transforming consciousness, both personal and collective.

We affirm the creation of a world where all are welcome as both 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲. That means refusing dehumanization wherever it appears. It means protecting the vulnerable, telling the truth even when it is uncomfortable, and embodying justice 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤𝐲. And yes, it means 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 — with our presence, our solidarity, and our willingness to stand alongside those whose lives and freedoms are at risk.

This is a moment where 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤. It is a moment for 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲. For 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞. For 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞. For 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬, remembering the song that so many of our centers and churches sing each Sunday, “Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.”

𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠. We choose to be part of the becoming of a more just, compassionate, and awakened world and are exploring ways in which ANTN can be that. 𝐖𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐮𝐬?

My journey in Unity began 10 years ago tonight at Unity of Houston's Burning Bowl ceremony. It has been a remarkable one, and I remain in awe of what God is doing, has done, and will do in and through me.

Tonight, as I join the church of my heart online, to sing, reflect, release, and receive, I move into a big year with the vision of simple desires.

To the joys and pains, tragedies and triumphs of 2024, I'm grateful for all you've taught me. Farewell. A new dawn is on the horizon.
