God wanted me to remind you that what you mommas are doing IS ministry, or as I like to say, your Momistry. It’s VITAL!!! And He said for me to tell you “KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.” Every president, pastor, grounds worker, teacher, CEO, prophet, trash man, secretary, worship leader, policeman, missionary, and painter has a mother. Every single one. Sometimes, it’s their biological mother, stepmother, single mother, adopted mother, and foster mother. It can also be their grandmother, family friend, or aunt, who is their mother figure. Whatever your position, your role is mother. You are raising the next generation of servants of The Living God. This is the most important job on the entire planet.

“When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Her children stand and bless her. Proverbs‬ ‭31:26-28‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We took this beautiful young woman to her Spring Formal last night. What a wonderful evening with good friends, yummy food and lots of laughing with a great show.

My oldest daughter shared this post several years ago. I was recently telling someone about it and thought I'd reshare it with you.

I did something kind of crazy a couple of weeks ago. But the more I think about it really wasn’t that crazy. It was a really good decision. This is my bible. I just paid $280 to have it recovered and some of the pages restored. I know...a bit much...like I could have had my brows microbladed for that or bought a Kate Spade purse?!? Lol. But actually, I didn’t even hesitate. This bible is worth way more than that to me. My mom gave me this bible when I was young and struggling with fear. With this bible, she taught me how to have a personal relationship with the Lord; she taught me His word. In it, every scripture about fear is very sloppily highlighted in neon blue (my very particular adult self hates my younger self for my careless highlighting, and I only underline or highlight with a ruler now). When I was afraid, I read those scriptures & I memorized them. This bible taught me that a personal relationship with God is the most important thing; in fact, it is the only relationship that is forever unconditional. It is the only thing that will keep your faith from being squashed and squandered by this world. Anyways...if you need an old book restored, I know a gal 😉.

Does anyone else find it challenging to “set your sights on the realities of heaven?” Especially when the things of earth are screaming. I mean, dirty laundry and dishes are loud, but so is a toddler to whom you gave the wrong kind of chips. Or can we be real? Cold and Flu season has been horrific this year—exhausting, body, soul, and spirit.

I want to encourage you—well, us—I need it too. Small moments in His presence, focused on the realities of heaven, get us through it all. I don't know how people get through life without Jesus and His peace. Drugs, drinking, shopping….endless scrolling—those things do not infuse us with the new life needed.

Whether in the bathroom, standing at the stove cooking, or folding clothes from the dryer, take a deep breath and step into the heavenly realm of His sweet presence. Let His strength flood your body, soul, and spirit. It is NEW LIFE!!
