Today is National World Smile Day!!!
Today, we celebrate the power of kindness, hope, and human connection.
For survivors of domestic violence, a smile can represent so much more than happiness. A smile can be a sign of healing, safety, courage, and a brighter future ahead.
At COPE we see smiles return after moments of fear and hardship. Those smiles remind us why our work matters and why community support is so important.
This World Smile Day, we encourage everyone to share a simple act of kindness. Together, we can help create more reasons to smile.
If you or someone you know needs support, help is available. Reach out to COPE at 417-533-5201

COPE is celebrating a huge success for one of our Outreach clients!
She recently moved out of a one-bedroom apartment that had no washer and dryer hookups, and has now moved into a 2 two-bedroom apartment with washer and dryer hookups! We are so proud of her hard work to make this move possible!
Right now, she is in need of a washer and dryer to make her new apartment feel like home. If anyone has a used or new washer and dryer, please reach out!
We are so grateful for our community and how well you guys show up for us! Every act of kindness makes a differenceđź’ś

We’re proud to share that three incredible advocates Latisha, Rhonda, and Jamie recently attended the End Violence Against Women International - EVAWI Conference in New Orleans.
This experience was nothing short of powerful. They gained valuable knowledge on advocacy, strengthening support for survivors of sexual and domestic violence, and deepening their understanding of trauma informed care. One of the highlights was participating in the “Start by Believing” training, which reinforced the importance of listening to and supporting survivors from the very first moment they share their story.
They also had the amazing opportunity to meet the CEO of EVAWI in person, Ann Burdges, a truly inspiring moment that made the experience even more meaningful and memorable.
Our advocates participated in sessions focused on enhancing law enforcement training, learning best practices for investigations and strengthening collaboration between advocates and officers to ensure survivors receive a compassionate and effective response.
From impactful workshops to meaningful conversations with professionals across the country, they brought back insights that will help us continue to grow and serve our community even better.
We’re excited to put this knowledge into action.
Thank you, Latisha, Rhonda, and Jamie, for representing us and continuing the important work of ending violence and supporting survivors every day.
