Michael W. Fanger, Renowned Immunologist Who Paved the Way to Cancer Immunotherapy, Dies Michael W. Fanger, PhD, professor emeritus, former chair of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Geisel School of Medicine, and entrepreneur died Tuesday, August 1. He was 83 years old.
