On this day in 1912, the Titanic sank after hitting an iceberg, taking over 1,500 lives and changing maritime safety forever.

In 1989, the Hillsborough disaster claimed the lives of 97 football fans due to a tragic crowd crush, leading to major reforms in stadium safety.

In 2013, the Boston Marathon bombing shocked the world, killing 3 people and injuring hundreds, reminding us how fragile public moments can be.

Even in 1865, April 15 marked the passing of President Abraham Lincoln, one of the most pivotal figures in American history.

A lot of tragedy is tied to this date, but it also reminds us of resilience, change, and the strength people show in the face of loss.

Not to mention… it’s Tax Day.

And in the middle of all that history… I was born on April 15, 1968.
