“Watching you fend off a bunch of armed thugs.” Jaz smiled at the memory, though he’d felt anything but pleased at the time. He’d known he’d be too late.
But he hadn’t been, because she’d fought.
“You’re amazing, Kenzie.”
“No.” She ducked her head, but he caught the smile he’d surprised out of her.
