1: Set a schedule for Windows Update to take place during off-hours of your business or when
the medical clinic is closed.
2: Install Endpoint security tool also known as Anti-Virus! Install anti-virus and keep the product
updated. If you think you cannot afford AV tool, at-least please install Free AV tool which many
companies offer, personally I like but many of the AV tools is very affordable
nowadays.
3: All computers must have a password-protected login, please have username and password
which is at least 10 characters long with letters, numbers, special characters.
4: If you have Wireless network or Wi-Fi in your business, ensure that it is password protected!
- Change the default password that it came with from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)
- Try to follow #3 standard for creating a password for your wi-fi, if the router does not
allow a special character to create at least 10-15 character long password with mix
character with letters, numbers, upper case, and lower case.
5: Have a password change for your Wi-Fi and Workstation every 90 days!!
