When canvassing the community, don't mistake efficiency for effectiveness like this flooring vendor did. I've seen dozens of these flyers littering our neighborhood. And I didn't have to obscure the company name; the weather has already done that.

I know I've been guilty of hanging doorhangers on mailboxes to save the trip to the door and reach as many houses in as short a time as possible. Then I came back a couple of days later to find them blown all over the streets and yards.

I'm sure they hurt the church's message and the testimony of Christ more than they helped.

I've seen and heard great outcomes from doorhangers when they're done right. I hope I never again give in to the drive for efficiency at the expense of effectiveness.

Not sure if I've been emotionally touched by number-crunching like this before...

I've been analyzing every free-form comment made by missionaries who took Edify Hub's 2017 deputation survey.

Tonight was spent reading and categorizing their frustrations and their blessings. The narratives say so much that the final statistics won't be able to convey.

The number one reported frustration was—unsurprisingly— how hard it is to contact pastors. 85 out of 376 missionaries gave an indication of this somewhere in their comments.

The number one blessing was the connections that they made in their churches. 109 out of 376 missionaries commented on this.

This emphasis goes to show just how important contact and connection with other Christians can be.
