Bear is a leader in the telecommunications industry celebrating 17 years of results. The I&R Technicians perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of POTS (Plain Old Telephone Systems), high-speed internet and video networks.

Do you have experience as a Cable Installer, triple play technician, Fusion splicing, Bell Systems, broadband technician, Legacy Phone, structured cabling, alarm systems, Geek Squad, Satellite, Audio Visual and Home Automation installers? We need you!

I&R Phone Technician Project Incentive Bonus:
Technician Level 1-2: $1,500 / Experienced Technician Level 3-4: $3,000

Benefits for Technician:
• Insurance: Beginning the first of the month following sixty (60) days of employment, you will be eligible for 401k, health insurance, dental, vision and voluntary (Life, Short-Term, Long-Term Disability, Accident Plan and Critical Illness) insurance.
• Paid Time-Off (PTO): You will accrue a total of 3 weeks in your first year of employment.
• Take home Transit supplied by Bear, or POV allowance
• Tools supplied by Bear: Meter, Fusion Splicer and hand tools
• Tablet for reporting purposes

Requirements for I&R Technician:
• 0-2 years experience as a Cable Installation or Phone I&R Technician preferred
• Previous CATV, telephone or satellite installation and repair experience
• Ability to carry, climb and maneuver an 80-pound, 28-foot extension ladder, and climb electrical poles.
• Able to work in varying outside weather conditions
• Educate customers regarding their existing and new services
• Pass a background check and drug test
• Must have a current Driver’s License with no major violations (DUI, Fines in last 5 yrs.)
Responsibilities
• Install and Repair Legacy phone system, twisted pair
• Station installation and repair (Cat 3, Cat 5e, Cat6, RJ11, RJ45 jacks, drop, and NID)
• SCTE Certified, NCTA Certified, triple play technician, Fusion splicing, Bell System, broadband technician, GPON Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Networks
• Basic computer skills and Android platform mobile device application usage
• Basic electricity, home automation
• Basic transmission of “xDSL” installation – xDSL means variations of Digital Subscriber Lines.
• The telephony color code to be able to identify assigned cable pairs
• Ability to read a main frame/cross connect/control point layout to run jumpers
• Ability to read, understand and follow instruction on dispatched Jobs, trouble tickets, project prints, throw and sequence sheets and associated record updates
• Working knowledge of CenturyLink workforce management systems: Including but not limited to: CLICK-MAX, or Tech Access and associated task clearing codes.
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers
• Ladder safety, Pole climbing (if requested), OSHA safety requirements
• Knowledge of working with fiber and copper facilities
• Ability to utilize test equipment and interpret test results for all work streams

Requirements

2+ years cable installation experience
Fiber to the home experience preferred not required.
​​Data/Voice installation experience.
Home networking/wireless networking experience.
Previous direct customer service experience preferred
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
Have a valid driver’s license with No Major Violations on MVR in the last 5 years
Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Capable to use full-range of motion in fingers, hand and wrists to operate necessary tools/equipment
Prepared to sit, stand, stop, crouch, reach and lift for long periods of time
Aptitude for driving and operating a motor vehicle for long periods of time
Ability to carry, climb and maneuver an 80-pound, 28-foot extension ladder.
Educate customers regarding their existing and new services while promoting our Client’s other services
