As the holiday season is upon us, I find myself reflecting on the past year and those who have supported the opening of my own speech therapy private practice. Thank you to the friends, family and AMAZING clients for making this all possible! I wish everyone a joyous, safe and peaceful holiday season!

Play-based therapy is using the child’s interests to elicit language. It could be playing outside with a water table, using puzzles, using tape (for example, taping toys that have boo-boos), taking pots and pans to make music and so much more. It’s more than sitting at a table and completing worksheets. It’s fun, engaging and can get a little messy (play-doh, sand, slime, etc.). Let’s have fun!

This is one of my most recommended tips to use in early intervention. Think about all of the language input you’re providing- using pronouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions, understanding spatial concepts, quantity concepts, quality concepts, etc.
