I know that everyone is excited to see Old No Relation retiring. I share that excitement. However, it has not changed my personal situation. I am not able to campaign this year and will not be challenging anyone for this seat.

I'm struggling to put my thoughts in a coherent order, but here's the gist: I'm not done. Last night sucked, but I still care about this county, and the upstate as a whole. I'm not willing to let a few bad months overpower the needs of my neighbors and family. Rural counties like Laurens still need senior care programs like PACE. They still need functioning roads, schools, and healthcare. And to get those, we need Democrats willing to show up.

When I ran the Waffle House, they told us "Job number 1 is to Show Up" and I wasn't able to do that enough when mom got bad. Things like that are going to happen, so the can't just be a handful of us out here doing the work. I'm going to focus on recruiting more local Democrats and getting them active as a party in our communities.

But, I do have to take a break. I need to spend the rest of this year getting my house in order (literally, it's a mess!) and putting in some overtime at work to replenish the bank account. I'm not going to touch this page, or even my personal Facebook much at all. I'll be at the coffee and chat this Saturday. If anyone is able, please bring democratic yard signs there and I'll get then back to their owners or dispose of them if instructed to do so.
