Last week, some of our therapy dog teams visited the Howard County Library Elkridge Branch for the D.E.A.R. (Dogs Educating & Assisting Readers) program! 📚🐾

During the visit, children had the opportunity to practice their reading skills while spending time with our therapy dogs in a calm, supportive environment. From sharing stories to enjoying plenty of pets and tail wags, it was such a special experience for everyone involved.

Programs like D.E.A.R. help build confidence, encourage a love of reading, and show just how meaningful the bond between people and dogs can be.

Tiny paws, learning big lessons. 💙🐾

Tank is doing such a great job learning and growing, and every little milestone is an important part of the journey. From building confidence to learning new skills in class, each moment helps lay the foundation for the life-changing work Tank and all the other puppies will do one day.

We’re so proud of all the progress he’s making and can’t wait to see what he learns next.

Last Saturday, therapy dogs Bella and Koda visited the Anne Arundel County Mental Health Awareness Family Fun Day. 💙🐾

Throughout the event, they spent time connecting with members of the community, sharing comfort, smiles, and plenty of tail wags along the way.

Events like these are such an important reminder that sometimes the smallest moments, like a quiet visit, a gentle nudge, or a wagging tail, can make a meaningful difference.

Thank you to Anne Arundel County for having us and for helping bring awareness to the importance of mental health and community support. 💜

Thank you to Council President Fani-González, Vice President Balcombe, and the entire Montgomery County Council for recognizing April 2026 as Therapy Animal Appreciation Month. 💙🐾

We’re so proud of all of our therapy dog teams and the light, hope, and joy they continue to bring to our communities each day. Whether it’s visiting hospitals to provide comfort or responding during emergencies where a team is desperately needed, our teams are always ready to show up with compassion and care.

The love, selflessness, kindness, and heart that each one of our teams, along with so many other therapy animal teams, brings to this work is truly something special. To have therapy animals and their handlers recognized in this way means so much to our entire community.
