🚨BREAKING UPDATE. Laurel Police release images of the suspected shooter from the Cinco de Mayo celebration last night in Maryland. The suspect is accused of shooting three people. Medics drove two people to a hospital in critical condition. The third person has serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

🚨BREAKING: EXCLUSIVE Interview with relative of shooting victims: Laurel police are investigating two separate violent incidents following Cinco de Mayo celebrations near Amigo’s Mexican Grill in Maryland. Police say a fight that began in the parking lot moved toward the LongHorn Steakhouse parking lot, where a suspect opened fire, shooting two men and one woman. Moments later, officers responded to a double stabbing on the other side of the parking lot. Investigators are working to determine whether the incidents are connected. Anyone with information about the shooting or stabbing suspects is urged to contact Laurel Police. 05/06/2026

DMV native Azzi Fudd has been selected as the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft and will begin her professional career with Dallas Wings.

I still remember interviewing her back in January 2019 when she was in high school at my alma mater St. John's College High School in Washington, D.C.

I knew then she was destined for greatness. Azzi attended SJC alongside my son and daughter, making this moment even more special.

She continues to make the cadets, as well as Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia proud!
