A new kid nonfiction title perfect for this year's Summer Reading Theme, “unearth a story” with fossil facts today!

The WOW and the HOW: Dinosaurs by Susie Williams

It's one thing to know a cool fact, such as the fact that scientists have found a fossil of two dinosaurs fighting. It's even more amazing to know the "how" behind it.
This book presents a dozen incredible facts that will make readers say, "Wow." Each fact is paired with an explanation — the "how" —that provides age-appropriate details backing up the fact. Full-color illustrations of amazing dinosaurs complement each "wow" and "how".

You still have time to pick up a copy of the book for the Latiné - X Book Club. This month's selection is “In the Dream House” by Carmen Maria Machado in celebration of Pride. Machado's non-linear memoir is part literary criticism and part folklore.

Addressing q***r visibility, Christianity and shame, abuse and healing within same-sex romantic relationships, the Dream House becomes a metaphor for both safety and entrapment.

Join us for a genealogy workshop to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of our wonderfully diverse nation: One Land Many Stories. Saturday, June 20, at our Thomas Branigan Memorial Library Location, starting at 1 PM.

Topics of Discussion include how to start and build your family tree, research tips and tricks, how to help others find their ancestors, naming and tracing enslaved persons, etc. Bring your questions and brick walls!

This program is intended for adults. Interested teens are welcome. This program will likely be uninteresting to children.
