O Lord, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call upon you, and grant that they may know and understand what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to accomplish them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Today, Mother Sandy reflected on Matthew 13:1–9, 18–23 and the Parable of the Sower.

Jesus reminds us that God’s word is offered freely and generously, but its growth depends on the soil in which it is received. Some seeds are lost, some struggle to take root, and others are crowded out by worry and distraction. Yet when the seed falls on good soil, it grows and produces an abundant harvest.

May we continue preparing our hearts to receive God’s word, deepen our roots in faith, and bear fruit through love, service, compassion, and grace.
