MY MIL "GIFTED" ME A REFRIGERATOR AND THEN MADE ME PAY FOR IT MYSELF—SHE TRIED TO TRICK THE WRONG PERSON On my birthday, my MIL, Denise, who has NEVER liked me, arrived grinning with a giant box. Inside? A gorgeous stainless steel refrigerator—the kind I'd only dreamed about. "Oh my God, Denise," I gasped. "I don’t even know what to say!” She basked in my shock. "Well, I just thought you deserved something elegant. Consider it my welcome gift into the family." For one fleeting second, I thought—maybe—she had finally done something kind. Then, the day before the wedding, during the rehearsal, Nancy and her fiancé, Josh, arrived with trucks of decorations and workers setting things up. Wearing a dark-red cocktail dress, Nancy snapped her fingers at the delivery crew and barked, “Go ahead and start unloading everything!” Then, she grabbed my arm, and pulled me aside. Her expression was pure ice. HER: “You gave us the venue, it's nice and so on. But listen, I don’t want you at the wedding tomorrow.” ME: "What the...?" HER (rolling her eyes): "Oh come on! You know WHY." ⬇️ Full in the first c0mment
