While we celebrate with family and friends, let’s remember that fireworks can be frightening for our pets.

🏡 Keep pets safely indoors.
🏷️ Make sure they are wearing ID tags or are microchipped.

🎆 Please be mindful of community cats, too. Loud fireworks can cause them to panic and run from the areas they know as home.

A few minutes of celebration isn’t worth a lifetime of heartbreak.

☀️🐱 Summer is here, and our cats feel the heat too! 🐱☀️

Did you know that panting in cats is often a sign of an emergency? Heatstroke can happen quickly, especially during the hot Texas summer.

💧 Provide fresh water daily
🏠 Offer cool, shaded places to rest
🚗 Never leave pets in a vehicle
🪮 Brush regularly to help remove excess fur
⚠️ Watch for signs of overheating: panting, drooling, lethargy, or weakness

If you notice any of these signs, move your cat to a cool area immediately and contact your veterinarian.
