On the morning of April 7, 2026, around 9:06 a.m., Nichols approached a neighbor's home on Burbank Court in Fairfield and started behaving erratically. Many people speculate that the behavior may be linked to a possible mental health episode although there is no current confirmation that's been confirmed by authorities. Nichols was booked into the Solano County Justice Center Detention Facility and currently faces four felony charges including First-degree burglary, Assault with a deadly weapon (not a firearm), causing great bodily injury, Criminal threats with intent to terrorize and Vandalism. His bail was set at $35,000 and his next court appearance is scheduled for April 13, 2026, at 1:25 p.m. in Fairfield Superior Court. 04/12/2026
