Over the past several days, there have been individuals who have once again chosen to use social media to spread negativity, falsehoods, and hateful rhetoric directed at me.

After dedicating my entire young adult life to serving our community, I have come to understand that public service often comes with criticism. Unfortunately, sometimes that criticism crosses the line into personal attacks, bullying, and attempts to destroy others from behind fake accounts and hateful comments.

I know many of you have reached out in anger and frustration over what has been said. I sincerely appreciate your support, your kindness, and your willingness to defend me. But I ask you, respectfully, to simply ignore these individuals and not give them the attention they seek. I pray for peace in their hearts and in their lives.

Earlier this year, I experienced the greatest loss of my life. Losing my mother changed me in ways I cannot fully describe. It reminded me that life is precious, that time is limited, and that we should never allow bitterness and hate to consume us or distract us from who we are.

People who truly know me know the kind of person I am. They know my story. They know my heart. They know that my life’s work has always been rooted in service, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others.

I choose not to engage in back-and-forth arguments because my peace matters. My mental health matters. My family matters. And protecting those things will always be more important to me than responding to those who seek to tear others down.

I will continue to live my life guided by faith, kindness, and service to others.

Hate may be loud, but it will never be stronger than love, truth, and a life dedicated to serving others.

As Webb County Treasurer, I have always believed that one of the greatest investments we can make is in the education of our children.

That is why I am proud to announce our Webb County Back-to-School Community Service Drive. Together, we can help ensure that students throughout our community begin the school year with the supplies they need to learn, grow, and succeed.

Whether it’s a pack of pens, crayons, notebooks, markers, glue, or scissors, every donation helps make a difference. These simple items may seem small, but for many families they can help relieve financial burdens and provide students with the tools necessary to achieve their goals.

Growing up in a humble household in El Cenizo, I understand the importance of community support and how a helping hand can create opportunities that last a lifetime. Education changed my life, and I believe it remains one of the most powerful pathways to success.
