This afternoon LINCS residents checked out the Michigan Historical Center!

We are so appreciative of The Peoples Church of East Lansing and all the volunteers who donated their time and resources to put together such a wonderful benefit concert! If you’d like to learn more about the rooftop solar project or make a donation, check out the attached article!

Local Nonprofit Launches Solar Fundraiser to Support Independent Living Community - East Lansing Info Along with providing affordable housing, LINCS helps residents in its community to find appropriate work opportunities and build social connections.

Today the LINCS residents checked out the Lansing Model Railroad Club’s Open House, and throughly enjoyed seeing all the trains and other models! They got to try out using Morse code from the tower, and we learned that SOS isn’t actually an acronym for anything (myth busted!), but was chosen as a signal because it is an easy-to-remember Morse code sequence!

Community craft night! Check out the cups our residents decorated this month - from boats, to UPS trucks, to math equations, these cups are a great representation of some of the cool hobbies and interests these folks share with our community!

At LINCS, we celebrate Christmas year round (or whenever we feel like it 😉)! The residents had a great time a few weeks ago baking and decorating festive cookies!

A big thank you to our friends at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts for giving our residents and their families a chance to see the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis! It was a splendid performance!

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to the Wharton Center for Performing Arts for inviting our residents & their families to attend last week’s performance of The Wiz!

Our residents and their families thoroughly enjoyed the show, and are looking forward to future performances!
