Rev Jackson and his sons often visited my cousins during the time my mom and I joined the church. We ate with them very frequently and had a ball playing games together and just hanging out. We marched together for education. To sit at the feet of greatness was a privilege. Words are not enough to describe what this pioneer of leadership has contributed to our foundational American culture. From Dr. King and John Lewis, Harry Belafonte, many others and now Jessie Jackson, we absolutely owe our honor and extreme gratitude. Yusef and Jesse Jr. were competitive and hilarious. We must continue to contribute to the legacy as we ‘keep hope alive’.
We are all ‘somebody’.
