𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔: Inspired by NIST CSF 2.0, RECOVER Function (Restoring assets and operations affected by a cybersecurity incident)

"The oak is not judged by whether it bends in the storm, but by whether it stands again after."

NIST CSF 2.0 includes six core functions. Recover is the last, and often the least resourced. It covers incident recovery plan ex*****on, restoration of systems, and communication during recovery.

Every organization will face a security incident. Prevention is necessary but insufficient. The question that separates resilient organizations from fragile ones isn't "did you prevent the breach?" It's "how quickly did you restore operations?"

The NIST AI RMF has 72 subcategories across 4 functions. Most organizations read GOVERN, MAP, MEASURE, MANAGE as a sequence. They're not.
GOVERN wraps around the other three. It's the accountability, policy, and culture layer that makes MAP, MEASURE, and MANAGE actually work.

We built a NIST AI RMF Hub with:
→ All 72 subcategories with plain-English explanations
→ Cross-framework mappings (ISO 42001, ISO 27001, EU AI Act, OWASP, MITRE ATLAS)
→ Implementation tracker with phased deliverables
→ Document builder organized by function
→ GenAI Profile guide (NIST AI 600-1)
→ Interactive implementation planner: 4 questions → tailored 9-phase plan

Plus a free self-assessment download.

Security terminology gets used loosely. "Risk" means something different to an auditor than it does to a SOC analyst. "Vulnerability" and "threat" get swapped constantly.

We built a Security Glossary that defines 68 terms the way practitioners actually use them:
→ 12 categories (Risk Management, Incident Response, GRC, Compliance, IAM, API Security, and more)
→ Difficulty ratings (Beginner → Expert)
→ Relationship mapping between connected concepts
→ Real-world examples, not textbook abstractions
→ Sourced from NIST, SANS, and ISC2

Searchable, filterable, and part of the larger Information Security Hub.

ISO 42001 looks intimidating until you realize only 7 of the 10 clauses are actually auditable.

Clauses 1-3 are introductory. Clauses 4-10 are where the requirements live: Context, Leadership, Planning, Support, Operations, Evaluation, and Improvement.

We created a visual breakdown showing what each clause requires and how they connect across the AI lifecycle.

If you're exploring ISO 42001 certification or just want to understand what's involved, this is a good starting point.

𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔: Inspired by NIST CSF 2.0, IDENTIFY Function (Helping determine the current cybersecurity risk to the organization)

"The general who does not know his own garrison cannot know his enemy; self-knowledge precedes all defense."

NIST CSF 2.0's Identify function sits at the foundation of the entire framework. It covers asset management, risk assessment, and improvement identification. Everything else (Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover) depends on what Identify reveals.

Most organizations jump straight to buying security tools. Firewalls before inventory. Endpoint protection before understanding what endpoints exist. Threat intelligence before knowing which threats actually apply to their environment.

Identify forces a different starting point. What do you have? What's at risk? What matters most?
The organization that skips this step builds defenses around assumptions. Assumptions don't stop attackers.

What would your security program look like if you started over from honest self-assessment?

The EU AI Act takes full effect August 2, 2026.

What catches teams off guard: the obligations depend on your role in the value chain. A CTO building an AI hiring tool faces different requirements than a procurement lead sourcing one. Provider, deployer, importer, distributor - each carries distinct responsibilities.

We built an EU AI Act hub that maps:
→ Scope assessment (does the Act apply to you?)
→ Risk classification (which tier?)
→ Obligations explorer by role (10 roles, article-by-article breakdown)
→ Compliance timeline with Digital Omnibus tracking
→ GPAI rules (already in effect since Aug 2025)
→ Penalty structure and enforcement examples
→ Full 113-article reference with implementation notes

Plus downloadable checklists and templates.

𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: Inspired by ISO/IEC 27001, Clause 10.2 (Nonconformity and corrective action)

"The physician who treats only the symptom will see the patient return; correction without root cause is merely repetition."

ISO 27001 Clause 10.2 requires organizations to react to nonconformities, evaluate the need for action to eliminate causes, implement corrective actions, and review their effectiveness. The emphasis isn't on fixing what went wrong. It's on understanding why it went wrong and ensuring it doesn't happen again.

Most organizations fix the immediate problem and move on. The failed backup gets restored. The misconfigured rule gets corrected. The ticket gets closed.

Then the same issue surfaces six months later. Different system, same root cause. Nobody asked why the backup failed in the first place. Nobody examined why the misconfiguration was possible.

Corrective action without root cause analysis is a cycle, not a solution.
What recurring security issue keeps showing up in your environment under different names?

Chasing ISO 27001 and NIST CSF compliance separately means duplicating work on controls that overlap.

We built a Security Framework Explorer that surfaces these alignments:
→ NIST CSF 2.0, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK, SOC 2
→ Cross-framework control mappings
→ Evidence checklists showing what auditors actually ask for
→ Implementation guidance at startup, growth, and enterprise scale

4.8 million unfilled cybersecurity jobs globally.

The field splits into two tracks:
→ Security for AI: Protecting models from adversarial attacks, data poisoning, prompt injection
→ AI for Security: Using ML to enhance threat detection, incident response, behavioral analysis

We built an AI Security Careers Hub mapping 20 roles across five tracks:
→ Engineering: AI Security Architect, MLSecOps Engineer, Cloud Security Engineer
→ Offensive: AI Red Teamer, AI Pe*******on Tester, Adversarial ML Researcher
→ Defense: AI Security Analyst, AI Threat Intelligence Analyst, AI Model Risk Analyst
→ R&D: AI Security Researcher, Cryptographic Engineer
→ Leadership: AI Security Manager, CAISO

Each role: validation status, salary range, required skills, certification path, and which backgrounds transfer best.
Plus OWASP LLM Top 10 and MITRE ATLAS breakdowns, a 90-day onboarding plan, and an interactive career quiz.

𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔: Inspired by CIS Critical Security Controls v8.1, Control 17 (Incident Response Management)

"The time to forge your shield is not the moment the arrow flies."

CIS Control 17 requires organizations to establish an incident response program. Designated response teams. Clear communication plans. Defined thresholds. Routine simulations. Post-incident reviews.

The organizations that respond effectively to breaches aren't the ones that scramble to figure it out in the moment. They're the ones who practiced before it mattered.

Tabletop exercises reveal whether your plan survives contact with reality. Communication chains reveal whether the right people get notified at the right time. Post-incident reviews reveal whether you actually learn from what happened.
