Lansing Professional Firefighters

Yesterday, Lansing firefighters responded to 181 calls for service in 24 hours!!!

More than double our normal daily average of about 75, after a powerful storm caused widespread damage across our community.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected as they begin the recovery process. We also want to thank the countless workers restoring power, clearing roads, repairing infrastructure, and helping our community get back on its feet.

For more than 50 years, the Lansing Fire Department has been a national leader in emergency medical care. As one of the first fire departments in the nation to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) services, LFD has proudly served as the City's exclusive ALS provider since 1975.

A paramedic delivers the highest level of emergency medical care available outside a hospital. Paramedics bring emergency room level care directly to you when seconds matter most.

Unfortunately, some decision makers are trying to change that. Local 421 respectfully disagrees and will fight for the city of Lansing residents so that they will receive the highest level of care without delay.

We believe every person who calls 911 deserves the best we can offer!!

Local 421 will continue to educate decision makers that money and easy ways out shouldn't be the deciding factors when real people are the ones affected.
