GAFBrothers & Sisters,

Apologies for the late notice, but this weekend is the final weekend for the Adopt-A-Highway 2016 clean-up season.

We want to meet this Saturday morning, October 1st, 10am at the Price Road Park-n-Ride on the south-bound side of North 1-27.

While this is always fun and rewarding no matter the size of the group, it does make it a quicker & easier job if there are more of us. Eight people is the minimum to make it effective.

Please respond to this post if you can join us this Saturday morning.

Be sure to wear appropriate clothing & footwear. Gloves are a must. Water bottles recommended. We have snazzy day-glow yellow vests for safety, as well as some grabby claw sticks for easy pick up of trash.

As usual, we will meet afterward for a meal & drinks, and to discuss the interesting, funny, and/or gross items we found while picking up other people's refuse. Bring a dollar for the pot, and the person with the most interesting find (judged by the waitstaff at the chosen establishment), will win the pot.
Restaurant or tavern to be determined at the clean-up.

Thank you all in advance for your participation or consideration.

While their was a group of friendly, hard working folks out at Fenner Nature Center this morning, the GAFBO ranks were a bit thin.
The lone beardsman rides again.

Ian Walker gets a pass for a legit reason.

Hello everyone!

As you may recall, our very own Jeffery Gower is highly involved with the Fenner Nature Center, and has been organizing GAFBO's volunteer efforts there. WELL, tomorrow is another day of service we can all get involved in. One of the major things GAFBO has tried to do is be involved with the community, and this is a perfect opportunity to help out with one of the coolest resources for the Greater Lansing area.

Bring water, gloves, and clothes that can get a little dirty. Come out and help make Fenner more beautiful and accessible.

Saturday, Sept. 10th from 9am til 12pm

Fenner Nature Center
2020 E. Mt. Hope in Lansing.
Meet at the Fenner main building at 9am.

An IMPORTANT note regarding the weather:

While it is supposed to be relatively cool, there is a chance of rain. The cleanup IS happening regardless of rain, but will be cancelled in event of thunderstorm.

Hope to see you there!
